The design and background
In collaboration with Ocean Kitchen Scotland, interior designer Anna Campbell Jones has created these Lucky Swallow wall ornaments - delicate flying swallows inspired by her own tattoos and a small cast-metal ornament she discovered at a church fête over 40 years ago
Reminiscent of the vintage flying ducks, each Lucky Swallow is crafted entirely from reclaimed beach plastic. The material comes from broken fish boxes gathered during beach cleans by Anna and Ally. Once collected, the boxes are washed, shredded, and moulded into swallows in East Scotland. Each bird’s colour is unique, drawn directly from the original plastic used.
Every swallow comes in a stylish, recycled gift box and can be easily attached to the wall with Blu Tack or sticky pads. They can be hung individually or together in colourful clusters to create a striking flock of swallows.
