Inspired by Scottish inventor Sir David Brewster’s kaleidoscope, as found in our Scottish Design Galleries, Lesley Barnes has designed a new pattern especially for V&A Dundee to wrap around and decorate this clever teleidoscope. These playful items present a fun way to enjoy and explore colour and shape.
A teleidoscope is a kind of kaleidoscope, with a lens and an open view, so it can be used to form kaleidoscopic patterns from objects outside the instrument, rather than from items installed as part of it.
