
Tatreez your own Tote and more with this vibrant embroidery kit, curated in collaboration with Jordan-based design collective, Folkglory and exhibition centre, Tiraz: Widad Kawar Home for Arab Dress. Tatreez is a traditional form of Palestinian embroidery, characterized by intricate, hand-stitched geometric and floral patterns that reflect cultural identity, heritage, and regional stories.
This embroidery kit is stocked in association with our current exhibition, Thread Memory: Embroidery from Palestine. The exhibition explores the history of Palestinian dress and the ancient practice of tatreez, hand-embroidery which is characterised by remarkable beauty and regional diversity and tells stories of women’s identities, grief and changing lives.
This ancient practice of Palestinian embroidery is recognised as unique for its craft and is on the United Nations list of Intangible Cultural Heritage for Humanity.

- Designs: 5 typical tatreez patterns copied from various dresses as well as informational flyers about the origin of the patterns.
- Materials: 3 pieces of Aida fabric, 14 count, size 20 cm x 25 cm, 2 pieces of Aida fabric, 14 count, size 14.5 cm x 10 cm and 1 tote bag with waste canvas, 5 typical patterns copied from dresses, 3 embroidery needles and thread.
