The ninth issue of The Journal of Scottish Yarns celebrates the heritage, creativity and craftsmanship of Scottish textiles. Created to support and strengthen the Scottish textile community, this beautifully produced bi-annual publication showcases the stories, makers and traditions behind Scottish yarns.
Issue 9 explores the world of Bernat Klein - the influential Borders-based designer and colourist whose pioneering work shaped textile design from the 1960s onwards. Featuring an article by Alison Harley, Chair of the Bernat Klein Foundation, this edition also includes features on the history of Scottish wool, native sheep breeds, and the people and projects preserving Scotland’s rich textile traditions.
Inside are six knitting patterns and three crochet designs inspired by Klein’s iconic use of colour and texture, alongside inspiring stories, artisan features and beautiful photography.
A must-read for knitters, crocheters and lovers of Scottish yarn, The Journal of Scottish Yarns continues to celebrate Scottish wool, textiles and creative craftsmanship with yarn at the heart of every page.
